# Campfire Curiosities / media kit

The existing owner-supplied emblem, cleaned and reconstructed as a vector. Version 2026-09-20.

## Start here

- Website and dark backgrounds: logo-gold.svg. Gold is the primary color.
- Cosmic accent: logo-turquoise.svg.
- Photography or one-color printing: logo-white.svg or logo-ink.svg, chosen for contrast.
- Small UI (40–80px): use the matching -compact.svg. This strengthens strokes, not a different design.
- Profile photo: avatar.png (512px; safe for circular crops).
- Social link preview: social-card.png (1200×630).
- Header or signature: wordmark-[color].png (620×260, transparent) or SVG.
- PNG logos: transparent 256, 512 and 1024px square. SVG is resolution independent.
- Favicon: favicon.svg, PNG 16/32/48; Apple touch icon: 180px.

## Typography

Manrope Variable: 550 for the wordmark, 450–550 headlines, 400 body, 500–600 labels. The font is embedded in wordmark/social SVGs and included under its OFL license. Some vector editors ignore embedded web fonts: install Manrope or use the supplied PNG. Emblem-only SVGs contain paths only and need no font. The serif title in the original banner is reference artwork, not a change to website typography.

## Usage

Use one color per emblem, with no glow or gradients inside the mark. Preserve the original flame, star and arch arrangement. Never stretch, rotate, crop the arch, or add extra symbols. Leave at least the height of the top star on every side beyond the supplied canvas. Prefer 96px or larger for the fine-line master, 40px or larger for compact UI, and 30mm or larger for print; have the printer confirm its minimum line thickness. Tiny favicons are navigation identifiers, not a substitute for the full-size mark. Test stickers at physical size.

The emblem does not include the source photo, source serif lettering or Substack trademark. This is a reconstruction from a raster source, not a recovered original vector.

## Maintain

Source of truth: src/lib/brand-mark.json in the website repository. React, the brand builder and guide builder share this geometry. Run npm run brand:build, npm run guide:build, then npm run build after changing it. Old question-in-the-flame asset URLs are compatibility aliases only and are excluded from this kit.
